Cadillac teacher Dave Foley shot these photos during the KISS visit to Cadillac. None of these pictures have ever been published before, and very few people have ever seen them. --Jim Neff
A homecoming tradition is that each class builds a float for the homecoming parade. The floats are made with simple materials and must reflect the theme of homecoming, in this case KISS.
The photos of KISS with the CHS marching band are classic. Where else have you ever seen Gene playing a tuba?
Photos of the KISS concert are few and far between, mainly because it was so dark. Here are two shots featuring fire; the one on the right is Gene spewing flames.
KISS made a spectacular departure from Cadillac in a helicopter. In the first photo you can see the helicopter coming in for a landing behind KISS. Photo two shows KISS welcoming the arrival of the copter, and in three they're boarding. The fourth photo shows CHS principal John Laurent and members of the band watching the helicopter take off. Finally, in a now legendary gesture, the helicopter is in the air and you can see thousands of leaflets being showered on Cadillac. Each leaflet said: "Cadillac High -- KISS Loves You" and was autographed by the members of KISS. (You can see the leaflet at the top of the home page of this website.)
