Welcome to the Flint St. Mike's Class of '65 website. All the news about the "Ancient Warriors" can be found here, including updates about upcoming meetings and events. Please check the E-Mail Address Page and send us your e-address. This will give us a way to contact everyone at once.

We had planned to have a reunion/meeting every year on the third Saturday in June, as you can read on our 2007 SUMMER MEETING page. Alas, not enough people showed interest for a Summer 2008 or 2009 meeting, so nothing is planned at this time. If anything changes, we'll post it here.

MESSAGE FROM ED GOGGINS REGARDING FRANK BELLANT -- FEBRUARY 2010
Hello to the class of 1965,
I would like to direct your attention to The Flint Journal for Sunday 2/14/ 2010 on M-live.com. An article “Image of honor” by Beata Mostafavi is a sad story about one of our classmates Frank Bellant and his death in Vietnam. I hope all of you take the time to read this and remember Frank in your prayers. Could we use this site to pass on any information people might have concerning Frank Bellant’s family or any info they might have about him?

MESSAGE FROM TOM DAUNT -- OCTOBER 2009
www.ihmsisters.org
Hi classmates,
The above link is to the Motherhouse of the IHM sisters who so bravely and selflessly educated you. My wife, Kathi, and I were recently there to visit a nun friend of ours who recently moved there after spending 50+ years serving various communities, the last 30 years in Pt. Huron. It was our first visit. A beautiful place. There are about 200 ladies living there now, mostly seniors in various stages of infirmity. The order itself is down from a peak of 1,600 in the 1960's to about 450 today, very few younger than 60.
Imagine our surprise when we discovered that the person in the apartment next to our friend is our classmate, Jean Ann Campana. I had last seen Jean Ann at the '95 reunion. As you may or may not know Jean Ann was hit while riding her bike in Huntsville, AL in 1988 and has permanent injuries from that event. She is still quite spunky and scoots around the halls on her Amigo. She has been unable to work at a permanent position since the accident but stays busy there. I was also amazed to see her parents there
for this visitation day. They are 88 years old, still driving and still live in the same house on Avenue A street about 2 blocks from where I grew up and about one block from St. Mikes.
The purpose of my note is to ask if you can find it in your heart to support the IHM Motherhouse. Through this link you can make donations, look up information about past teachers, participate in their annual raffle sale and even send an email to Jean Ann. One of the observations I made was how profoundly sad it seems that these women gave their lives to educating young Catholic boys and girls and now in the twilight years they
are alone with their peers surviving on very small monthly Social Security checks, which are turned over to the Motherhouse.
Finally, I would say that no matter how you feel about the Catholic Church and whatever your current religious beliefs are these are women that did their best to give you a good education. Thanks for your consideration.

God Bless and hope to see you soon,
 Tom Daunt

Hey, remember cruising Flint and listening to WTAC, the Big 600 on the AM dial? Well, relive those days with a new book by Peter C. Cavanaugh. Peter C. was the top DJ on WTAC, along with Bob Dell, and he produced all those dances and shows at Sherwood Forest outside of Davison and at Mt. Holly. His book is all about those days in Flint during the late 60's and early 70's. Click on the book graphic to buy a copy. (Note: Some explicit language.) cover
